Life At The Bridge 11-13-20

Blab it and grab it. Believe it and see it. Name it and claim it. Let me see, were those in the Old Testament or the New?

Some would argue or think that we know how God is blessing someone by how their health and wealth are performing. Yet when we look at the life of Jesus, and His closest followers, we see people who were VERY blessed and highly favored - and yet did not have the kind of wealth that we would necessarily hold up as a sign of God's blessing.

So, does God want His people to prosper? Well, of course! But if our means for measuring prosperity are not aligned with what we see in the life and teachings of Jesus, we may need to dig a little deeper. In this series, we will unpack the truth about abundance and God's plan for us to experience the rich and satisfying life JESUS promised.

If you would like to read in preparation for Sunday, take a look at I Timothy 6:9-10, Philippians 4:12-13 and I Peter 2:20-21.

Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts—filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys—to children worldwide for more than two decades.  Since 1993 over 178 million shoeboxes have been delivered to children all over the world to show them the love of Jesus. You can pick up a shoebox in the church lobby or transform any shoebox into a vessel of Christmas Joy! Find a step-by-step guide on the How to Pack a Shoebox webpage.

A few good volunteers are needed to help during collection week November 16-23.  There are weekday shifts from 12-2pm and 6-8 pm.  There are weekend shifts also.  Please contact Pat McCarthy if you think you can help.  Training will be provided!  Email at [email protected]

Middle and High School Youth: Join us on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm at the church for youth group. Middle School will meet in The Landing and High School in the building out back which we are preparing to be a youth center. Bring a friend and check it out.
