Life At The Bridge 10-15-20

Maybe for you the word “family” brings warm, joyful feelings and memories wrapped around the people you love the most. Maybe the word family simply turns you off. I get it. Relationships are hard. The closer they are, the more powerfully they influence us - for good or for bad...or for both.

But the truth is, we can’t escape “family”. If nothing else, we are part of the big “human family”. But we are part of other families in our lives. And if we are going to be part of a family, it’s important we learn how to BE FAMILY effectively. We deserve to grow in this area for ourselves and for the generation following us.

If you have missed previous messages in this series, click here to look up the ones you have missed. CANDY CARAVAN - a drive-thru Trunk or Treat experience for families: There are THREE things you can do to help us make this a raging success:

  • Bring pre-packaged CANDY!! Drop it in the tank outside Bridge Kids check in this Sunday!
  • Host a station. Come up with a fun idea for a trunk/tent/trailer decoration and let us know you are planning to do so. Email Nate and Alicia at [email protected]
  • Help us get the word out!! Look for posts on Facebook and SHARE!

Ripple Effect - Save the date! In just a few weeks we will gather to encourage and support our mission partners at our annual Ripple Effect Mission Conference on Sunday November 8.  Our theme this year is Waymaker and we are excited to hear how these servants have been making their way through the current global crisis to spread the gospel and be the hands and feet of Jesus.  The conference will look a bit different this year so stay tuned over the next few weeks to hear more about how we plan to encourage and support our local, regional and global partners.

Middle School Youth: Join us on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm at the church for youth group. Bring a friend and check it out.

Eight O’ Clock Encounter: We are in the process of making some huge staffing decisions here at LifeBridge and I invite you to gather with us to seek God’s favor, wisdom and direction for the future of our church. Whether you can meet us on Saturday mornings or not, please be in prayer for these crucial decisions.

True LIFE Story - just to encourage you: Last night I (Denise Moore) received a phone call from a woman looking for something to rent. She just moved here recently and stopped by The Living Room for coffee. She had gone to another local cafe’ and although the coffee was good, she just knew she had to stop at The Living Room. So she did and she said she just felt the presence of the Holy Spirit there and loved the atmosphere. She came back on a different day, she was prayed over and she was talked to by Barrett. She went on and on about what a blessing The Living Room is. When she first called me looking for a place to rent, she didn't know that The Living Room was a ministry outreach from LifeBridge Church. She just knew what she felt when she was there. She also talked about this other little store downtown with a woman who worked there with blonde hair and she invited her to a women's bible study at the church next to the bowling alley. I was the 2nd or 3rd person who told her about the church next to the bowling alley. I asked her if the blonde at the store downtown had a southern accent and if her name was Theressa? Of course it was! This woman had nothing but great things to say about our town and about how God was moving her and introducing her to all these people. We had a great conversation.

This is how we saturate our community with the Life of Christ!! Keep up the great work Lifers.
