Life At The Bridge 8-4-20

Do you want to be an irresistible leader? Have you ever met someone that you and others are just drawn to follow - or at least listen to? What makes a leader the kind of person people want to follow?

Jesus was just that kind of leader. He had no authority in worldly terms. He wasn't a government official, He didn’t own a company, He had no title or even letters after his name. It wasn’t positional authority or credentials that caused multitudes to follow Jesus. It was something internal. It was something invisible and intangible, yet so obvious that thousands saw it and were impacted by its effects.

Whether it’s three people or three thousand, all of us will have influence. The question is what kind of influence will we have and what difference will it make? How will we steward the leadership opportunity all of us have been given? In these troubling times, leadership is essential. Our world needs leaders. If history has taught us anything, it’s that any positive future will be written by those who lead well.

If you want to read ahead for Sunday, read Nehemiah 5.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

We need each other! COVID or not, we need to do life together. This last few months have splintered the gathering of God’s people, but we don’t have to be separated. Let’s be honest, with all the things we are out and about doing, we simply need to make uniting the church a priority.

So...LifeGroups ARE BACK!! We know that for some, Zoom will be a preferred option. For others, you need to meet in person. Some can do evenings and others will need to hit a weekend. We are working hard to create an opportunity for just about anyone.

If you are looking for opportunities to be an Essential Leader and are willing to use your time and energies to LEAD a group, we want you to join us on Sunday, September 13th at 6:00pm. We will enjoy refreshments together, then give you the training and resources you need to lead a group. If you simply want to JOIN a group, keep your eyes open for opportunities to sign up for a group through Life At The Bridge or on site on Sundays, September 20th and 27th.
