Life At The Bridge 6-12-20
Tune in this Sunday to hear about your FREE gift! No, this isn’t some gimmick, this is the generous heart of our Heavenly Father. Sometimes we approach Christianity as if we feel God is trying to take something from us. The truth is, God is a giver at heart and has continued to shower His blessings on us - even when we don’t deserve it.
A few weeks ago we talked about the promised GIFT of the Holy Spirit to all who would believe. But wait, there’s more. Lean in this Sunday to learn more of what God has for you. You have a PURPOSE in this life and we want you to DISCOVER it!
We hope you will do more than just “watch” the service. Come to the LIVE experience with an attitude of worship and a heart full of expectation. Finish breakfast before it starts. Get dressed - nothing fancy. Turn off the other distractions. Gather everyone in the house and lean in. GOD WANTS TO SPEAK TO YOU! God wants to move in you and in your home. Give Him the same attention you would if we were all together at the church building. Make it about Him and Him alone. Hope to see you this Sunday for LifeBridge LIVE at 10am at the following locations:
LifeBridge LIVE communion: If you would like to participate, gather the elements and have them ready ahead of time. You will need some grape juice or wine and a bread of some kind. I look forward to receiving communion with you this Sunday morning.
Hey Bridge Kids families, it’s almost FATHER’S DAY. Our Bridge Kids team is inviting you to stop by the church on Saturday, June 20 from 4:00-5:30pm for “Mobile Donuts with Dad”. There you will get a donut kit to take home and enjoy Sunday morning with dad. They will also have a donut picture wall so you can get your picture taken with our oversized donut.
In case you missed it, here is last week’s BK message.
Eight O’ Clock Encounter: This Saturday (at 8am) and hope you will come and pray with us - for our homes, our church, our community, our nation and our world. Bring a chair if you can and dress for the weather. North Parking lot of the church.
HIGH SHOOL YOUTH: Let’s get together, yeah, yeah, yeah! All high schoolers and incoming freshmen are invited to a bonfire this Friday, June 12th from 7-9pm at the Mills’ Home (08292 73rd St). S’mores, drinks, and yard games will be provided. If you have a lawn chair, please bring it. We will practice social distancing to the best of our ability. We cannot wait to see you, it’s been too long! Please email [email protected] with questions or if your student needs a ride.
Quick thanks to our Re-opening task force led by Terry and Linda Roose, and all of you who filled out the survey to help us plan our road to re-opening.
Our plan basically includes three phases at this point:
Phase 1 - two weeks: MICRO HOUSE PARTIES start this Sunday, June 14. This is an organic approach encouraging Lifers to think and pray about one or two families they may want to get together to watch the Sunday service, followed with some discussion (we will supply questions to use if you need them), prayer for one another, and a meal or snack or whatever works best for your context. This Sunday we will also give people an opportunity to receive communion together as well so whether you are gathering with others or not, you may want to have juice or wine and bread on hand. Feel free to choose the time you gather people. It doesn’t have to be Sunday at 10am.
Phase 2 - 4-6 weeks: LIFEBRIDGE HOUSE PARTIES start June 28th. These will be hosted by people who have offered their home as a place for 15-25 people to gather. These will include the same kinds of elements we are encouraging for the micro House Parties, just larger groups.
Phase 3 - Late July or early August: PUBLIC WORSHIP in our building is dependent on a few factors. First, we will be watching the affects of COVID where other businesses and organizations are opening. Second, we will need to complete some work on our building and equipment to continue to serve those who attend AND those who do not feel safe to gather yet.
I do want to shout out this PRAISE. Last Sunday after our service, a Lifer texted me and said they would be sending $15k to cover the expenses to upgrade our sound and lighting. Praise God!! We will need to get the equipment installed and set up, but this sure helps to accelerate the process. We will also need to schedule a few work days for cleaning and set up in preparation for re-opening.
Please email us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
Let's take a moment to publicly congratulate all of our 2020 graduates.
