Life At The Bridge 01-23-2020
The rich and satisfying life seems elusive in the world in which we live. The world tells us that chasing money, fame, pleasure and self-actualization are the keys. Yet the more we do, the farther we seem to get from the goal.
God has given us the plan. Our goal at LifeBridge is to help people cross the bridge to abundant life IN Christ. Trust me, it’s more than being a good person, saying your prayers and going to church. God has a purpose and a plan for your life and when you discover that...watch out world. Seriously, God...has a plan...for you.
Have you discovered that plan, or have you just signed up for Christianity 101 hoping a little religion will do you some good? Or maybe someone you know is struggling to figure that all out. Well, whether you are on the first lap, or whether you have been walking with Jesus for a while, it’s important to make sure.
We have been talking about the vision God gave us to build a bridge for people to the rich and satisfying life He has for us in Christ. Join us this week as we look at the last section of that bridge. You may find that you have started on the bridge, but just haven’t completed the journey. The greatest joy might be just ahead. This Sunday at 10:00 and 11:30am.
LifeGroup Sign Ups: It’s NOT too late. Click here to find a list of our LifeGroups and a way to contact the leaders. Groups are starting soon so don’t delay.
Last Sunday we had a great meeting together - Food, fellowship and vision. I want to say “Thanks!!” to our Team Leaders who did a great job sharing their team’s heart for ministry. Unfortunately, the weather was a little dicey and probably kept some of you home. Please click here if you want to watch the video of the meeting.
Our next Family Chat will be April 26th, where the Trustees will present the 2020/2021 fiscal year budget. This is where we would like to share with you our vision for ministry in the coming year and our plan for financing that vision.
Beyond our bridges:
Please join us at the fourth annual South Haven March for Life - held on the same day as the Washington DC march this year. In 1973 the Supreme Court of the United States legalized abortion-on-demand. Over 61 million lives have been lost in the last 47 years due to that decision. Ending abortion and promoting a culture of life is why we march each year. If you’ve never marched before we hope you will join us for the event and for all those who have we ask you to join us again and bring a friend.
Together we can achieve a world where the beauty and dignity of every human life are valued and protected. We have a number of signs available to carry that support our effort or you may bring your own. Please remember to DRESS WARM.
Case For Christ LifeGroup: As an atheist and awarded journalist for the Chicago Tribune, Lee Strobel set out to debunk Christianity once and for all. But in his attempt to destroy Christianity, he discovered a truth he could no longer deny. What evidences led him to these life changing discoveries? Follow Lee on his journey to discover the undeniable truth about who Jesus really was and is. This LifeGroup meets in the front office space at the church during the 10:00am service and starts this Sunday, January 26th.
NEXT Class: LifeBridge isn’t just a Sunday morning show. God started this movement over 7 years ago to bring His life to this entire region. What makes LifeBridge unique? We’d love to share our mission, vision, strategy, values and ministry philosophies with you. We’re not trying to make some kind of point, we want to invite you into the movement. If you have been attending for a while and want to know what’s next...Don’t miss the NEXT classes starting Sunday, February 2nd at 1:00pm in the church office. Lunch will be provided and we will supply all materials. If you have any questions, please reply to this email. Click here for more information about NEXT classes.
Send some love to Peru: We have Lifers going on mission to Peru to help host the annual women’s conference there. They have invited us to help them collect women’s scarves, used prescription glasses and costume jewelry to give away to the women as gifts and beanie animals to give the children when they see the dentist. You can bring the items in to church on Sunday. There will be a collection box in the lobby.
Some people have asked, “How do we know if church is closed or cancelled due to weather?” Well, our general rule is that unless the police have declared an emergency and closed the roads, LifeBridge will still hold services for those who can make it. We will send an email to the Life At The Bridge mailing list if we decide to close. Now, if you ever feel unsafe coming out in the weather, PLEASE DON’T! If you are serving that day, simply call your team leader and let them know you are not coming in. We will make the adjustments necessary. We know that on a crazy snowy day, we won’t have everyone in their places. But we will be there whether there are 5 or 500.
