Life At the Bridge 11-21-2019
Good evening Lifers. We hope you are having a great week as we are entering holiday season 2019. Can you believe we are already nearing the end of November? Don't blink or you'll miss it. Below you will find the details for some of our upcoming opportunities through our church and even beyond our bridges. But whatever you do, take some time to enjoy some good food, a gentle snowfall, a crackling fire, the shimmering lights, or playing some games with friends or your children. Take a moment to savor the relationships you have. Spend some time asking God how you may love and serve a friend, a neighbor or a co-worker during this often harried season. And of course, take time to step away and meet with Jesus. Don't fly through the holidays and forget that they are meant to be...Holy days.
There is no shortage of ideas and philosophies as to what constitutes a life well spent, but what does Jesus think? How are we to spend the life HE has given us? What will prompt our Creator to say, “Well done…”? Join us again this Sunday as we continue the series: A Life Well Spent. I’m excited for the opportunity to share insights with you from God’s Word. Bring a friend and join us for an inspiring time of worship and growth - 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am.
BridgeKids Vision Meeting: Do you want to know about the vision for BridgeKids? Join Becky this Sunday, November 24 during the 8:30am, 10am, or 11:30am services, in the new office/conference room area, to hear more about the new vision we have for BridgeKids. This important informational meeting is for parents, current BK volunteers, and for those who are interested in serving in BridgeKids and would like more information. Becky will spend time casting vision, answering your questions, and listening to your feedback.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: If I were to ask you if you were satisfied with your financial situation, how would you answer? I think most people would like to do better. We always hope the ministry of our church is relevant and practical for your life. How much more relevant and practical can you get than providing good, solid financial management training. As a gift to you, we are bringing in financial coach/advisor Paul Damon of Stewardship Planning Partners. He will be presenting two classes, both starting at 6:30pm at the church. The first class, Fundamentals of Financial Freedom, (A comprehensive course on personal finances) will be Monday, December 2nd. The second class, Who Will Inherit The Mess (Financial future and legacy planning) will be on December 9th. We hope you will take advantage of this gift.
Self-Defense Class: Lifer Anneke Dykstra, who is a senior at Bloomingdale High School, is inviting YOU to attend the self-defense class she has organized as her senior project. The class is offered this Saturday, November 23rd from 10am-1pm. The class is instructed by martial artist, Ed Kehoe. Anneke wanted to do a self-defense class because this world is a dangerous place and she wants to help people learn how to protect themselves. Please see the attachment for more information.
Holiday In The Park: Join our community downtown on Friday and Saturday, November 29-30 for South Haven’s official kickoff of the Christmas season. First United Methodist Church has invited the community to join them for a Christmas Carol Sing at 5:00pm on Saturday the 30th. They have a beautiful church building and I am sure it will be a heartwarming and powerful experience.
