Life at the Bridge 10-17-19

What is your faith built on? Can it stand the test of time?
How many of you made your way down to the beach on Wednesday to watch the waves POUND at the shore? Wow, what a show. On one hand it inspired a sense of awe and wonder. On the other, it made me wonder what was going to happen as our beloved shoreline was subjected to such a savage beating.
It reminded me of Jesus illustration of the two men; one who built his house on the sand and the other who built his house on a rock. The storm raged, the wind blew and beat against each house, but only the one on the rock survived. There is truth that is a rock. Is your life built on that BEDROCK truth? Too often even church goers have built their lives on philosophies and religious platitudes instead of the foundational truths of the Christian faith. Don’t miss this series. And life beats on us doesn't it? Our world gives us a beating - our lives must be built on BEDROCK! Everything else we do is built off the truths we uncover here.
Jesus spoke OFTEN about the Kingdom of God. We don’t. What was He talking about? What does that have to do with life in South Haven Michigan in 2019? This Sunday, that’s where we will be digging. Here is a challenge for you: Read through the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7). Look for and underline every reference to the Kingdom of God/Heaven and every time He contrasts that and the Kingdom of this world. See what you can learn about the Kingdom before Sunday. Bring a friend and join us for an  inspiring time of worship - 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am

We know that many of you came from a tradition where communion was a much more common practice than it has been at LifeBridge. We want to make communion available to you on a weekly basis and see how it goes. The Elders have worked hard to make this option available so we hope it will be helpful. Communion will be served during the breaks between first and second (9:40-10:00am) and second and third (11:10-11:30am) services on Sundays. From the main doors, head toward the Bridge Kids area, but then take a left before you get to the kids hall. If you need directions, please ask a Guest Services Team member and they will direct you.

Faith has to have a starting point. Got too many questions to know where to start? This class is for those at the beginning...or who are coming back to the beginning of their faith journey. Starting Point Class beginning Sunday, October 27 during the 10:00 Worship Experience. Reply to this e-mail if you have questions.

FINALLY...IT’S DONE! We have needed a new website for years. Maybe you have quit going to our old, chaotic looking website. Maybe, like me, you’ve even been too embarrassed to send someone to the website for fear it would give them a bad impression of the church. Yeah, it was that bad. But thanks to the hard work of Dan Henriquez, Angel Jacobsen and a few others, our new website is ready for visitors. Go to webuildbridges.org and check it out. We have made even more tweaks and adjustments this last week. Let us know what you think.
